Suspension & Frame: The device attaches directly to a crane hook via a central lifting eye or spreader beam configuration. It contains integrated electric motors, gearboxes, and adjustable drive sheaves/wheels.
Friction Belt Drive: High-strength synthetic belt or chains form continuous loops around the workpiece. These straps sit directly inside the motorized drive sheaves at the top and loop underneath the load.
Controlled Friction Transfer: When the motor engages, it turns the drive sheaves. Friction between the belts and the drive wheels imparts continuous linear motion to the straps. As the straps slide, they apply rotational torque to the workpiece, turning it steadily around its center of gravity.
Variable Distance Control: Advanced rotators feature motorized adjustable wheel spacing. Moving the drive sheaves closer together or further apart accommodates varying load geometries and controls belt tension to prevent slipping or binding.
